Pedal for The J’s 2017 is a big success PDF Print E-mail

Thank you to everyone who joined us in Chelmsford on Sunday 30th April for Pedal for The J’s 2017 which was sponsored by Beaulieu.

Admirals Park was a sea of bicycles, lycra and cycling helmets as the crowds prepared to cycle 15, 35 or 50 miles through the beautiful Essex countryside. This year, families with younger children could also take part along the new 2 mile, off-road Pedal in the Park route for bikes, trikes and scooters.

It was the eighth year of our popular annual bike ride and a total of 979 people signed up over the 4 distances. We were delighted that the weather was kind to us again which encouraged around 250 people to sign up on the day.

DJ Tony from Eternity Events Essex created a party atmosphere in the park and cheered on the cyclists while Cycle UK took care of the bikes.

We are very grateful to our sponsor Beaulieu – the exciting development on the outskirts of Chelmsford by Countryside and L&Q – and to all of the local businesses who supported the event and donated food and water.

Thanks also to our wonderful volunteers and staff who worked tirelessly to make the day such a big success and to Tony Smith for taking photos of the cyclists along the route.
