The Royal Parks Half Marathon: Sunday 8 October 2017

The J’s Hospice has 2 charity places in this popular and over-subscribed half marathon. Apply now for your place - no deposit is required but there is a minimum sponsorship level of £380. The J's Hospice Chelmsford Marathon: Sunday 22 October 2017

This is the 4th year of the Chelmsford Marathon which is organised by The J’s Hospice. Following the hugely successful 2016 route, the single lap 26.2 mile course begins outside Shire Hall in Chelmsford city centre and then goes out through the countryside before returning to the city. It is classified as fairly flat with some undulations.

The J's Hospice Chelmsford 5K: Sunday 22 October 2017

The Chelmsford 5K returns for the 2nd year on the same day as the Chelmsford Marathon. You can walk, jog or run through some of the city's beautiful green spaces - so it is the perfect event for people looking for a personal best over this distance as well as those new to running.

Cycling

Pedal for The J's: Sunday 30 April 2017

Our popular cycle ride, Pedal for The J's, returns to Chelmsford for the 8th year. You have the opportunity to cycle 15, 35 or 50 mile routes in the beautiful Essex countryside, so it's the perfect event for both experienced cyclists and families. This year we are adding a new 2 mile Pedal in the Park off-road route especially for younger children on their bikes, trikes and scooters so they don't miss out on the fun!

London to Paris Tour de France Challenge: Wednesday 19 - Sunday 23 July 2017  

The 299 mile, four day bike ride takes you through the beautiful Kent countryside to Dover, before crossing the Channel to Calais. After cycling through market towns with views of the rolling fields of Northern France, you reach Paris and cycle up the Champs Elysees to the Arc de Triomphe. The next day, watch your cycling heroes follow the same route in the finale of the Tour de France!

Prudential Ride London - Surrey 100: Sunday 30 July 2017 

This cycle ride is a true legacy of the 2012 Olympic Games.  Starting in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, it then follows a 100-mile route on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside. With leg-testing climbs and a route made famous by the world’s best cyclists at the London 2012 Olympics, it's a truly spectacular event for all involved.

The J’s has 6 charity places so you will need to move fast! Wing Walking

Wing Walk: Saturday 22 July 2017

Take to the skies on top of an Aerobatic Tactics Stearman biplane in aid of The J’s Hospice. You will be with the Aerobatic Tactics team for up to 90 minutes and can stay at the airfield for the day and enjoy the atmosphere from the viewing platform.

Please note that to wing walk you must be no heavier than 12 stone 2 pounds (77kg) and between 18-65 years of age. You can wing walk between 65-75 years of age but you would need a GP’s declaration of good health.
