The X Factor charity single, a cover of Rose Royce classic ‘Wishing on a Star’, was launched live on ITV on Sunday. The single was performed on X Factor by the last sixteen contestants as well as JLS and One Direction. All net proceeds will go to 'Together for Short Lives' who work to ensure that all families of children and young adults with life limiting conditions can make the most of their lives, with money raised going to 50 organisations including The J's Hospice to help local children and their families. An appeal film shown on the night featured the Lloyd family who have three lively boys diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy; ordinary people leading extraordinary lives. The Lloyd family will be in the front row at the Wembley studio on the night as special VIP guests of the show. The short film can be viewed here tp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ndsp5BVt2jY Families like the Lloyds are supported by Together for Short Lives, the only charity representing an estimated 23,500 children and young adults. The charity was handpicked by Simon Cowell, who is a patron and has supported the organisation for a number of years. The single costs £3.99 and is available at HMV and Amazon now, and via download http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/wishing-on-a-star-feat.-jls/id479940499?affId=2031880&ign-mpt=uo%3D4 on Syco Music and in all good high street stores (Sainsbury’s, Tesco, M&S, Asda and many more). |
