Shelly Skydives for The J’s PDF Print E-mail
Our fearless healthcare assistant Shelly went beyond the call of duty … by jumping out of a plane to raise funds for The J’s
Shelly took on a tandem skydive; freefalling through the air (without the parachute deployed) for several thousand feet before gliding to the ground very gracefully!

The jump took place at Maidstone Airfield and patients, families and staff joined Shelly at the airfield to share the experience.  Shelly said “I wanted to do something to raise money because I know how important it is to provide as much care and support as possible for young adults who need The J’s. We have so many people who fundraise for us and I wanted to show support for them too. The experience was exhilarating, beyond words actually. It was absolutely fantastic. I was so pleased that some of our young adults and families could come and see me jump; we had a great day! I have a video of the experience to share with everyone else at our young adult group. I hope this inspires others to skydive for The J’s.”
The J’s has 10 places reserved on March 4th 2012 – if you would like one please call 01245 351514 and speak to Nick or visit http://www.thejshospice.org.uk/index.php/events/1-uk/66-skydive-for-the-js
